What is holistic health care? ❤ ❤ ❤

Holistic health care are approaches that sees each person as an individual and whole and takes into account all aspects of a person’s needs, including psychological, physical, emotional, social and spiritual. It enables individuals to gain and maintain optimal health much quicker.

What is the general holistic overview?

The general holistic overview is that we have 4 bodies: the spiritual, the mental, the emotional and the physical body. They operate as one interpenetrating and co-operative system. These bodies differ in vibration level, and most people can only see the physical body. A well trained, gifted and intuitive person can see all bodies.

Any holistic work you do can have an affect in all your bodies. All bodies are equally important. Often working from the Spiritual body down, supports all other bodies.

Doctors look after the physical body, phychotherapist, counsellors, psychiatrists, look after the emotional and mental bodies, shamanic practitioners, energy workers and holistic therapists look after the spiritual body.

What affects one body affects the other bodies, and being aware of how this happens will help a great deal in achieving balance. The flow of energy needs to run through your 4 bodies freely.

How do we best care for this complex and intricate holistic system (body) we have?

Holistic health care will help you to do just that. You are probably already doing many things to help. The fact that you are reading this website means that you are taking steps in being responsible for your own health and not always waiting for something to go wrong and then expecting your doctor to "fix" you. This is not to say that you should not see a doctor when you are not well. They provide a vital and merciful service most of the time, and trying to do completely without them can be a terrible mistake.

If we look at long standing pain for example: Holistically we would look at the root cause of that pain not just the symptoms. For example we would ask: Is my pain coming from my childhood wounds? Is there a part of my emotional body that is in pain and I am feeling that pain in my physical body?

When you are ready to ask yourself those questions you are ready to look at the pain with a completely different point of view. We call it a holistic view because you are no longer just looking at the physical body, you are now seeing yourself as a person with a spiritual body, a mental body, an emotional body and a physical body.

How often do I need holistic support?

This will depend on how much support you need. As a general guideline, if you are trying to change long standing problems, we recommend for holistic sessions two a Month and for the shamanic session once a Month for a period of 6 Months to a year. It is very important to have time between sessions for integration of the work done.

With one session you will only scratch the surface. If you want to really see changes, plan to support yourself minimum 6 months to a year. People who plan and follow 6 months to a year of support see real differences on themselves.

A time between sessions is very important and we call it the integration time. If you do too many therapies at once, your "system" can be overloaded and no changes happens.

After talking to your therapist about the issues you would like holistic support with, he or she will be able to advise you further.

Is the session confidential?

What you discuss in your therapy sessions is held in confidence by your therapist. Planetary Healing practitioners work to a strict code of ethics and professional practice. Only if you were at serious risk to yourself or others, particularly children, or if the law required it, would your therapist discuss with you the need to make information known to anyone else.

How do I know if holistic therapy is right for me?

All therapies are potentially beneficial in one way or another. It is best if you choose an area or an issue you would like to work on. This will help you to focus and tackle the problem more efficiently.

People come to The Planetary Healing Centre with a broad range of issues, these include anxiety, depression, stress, life changes, relationships, eating disorders, bereavement & loss, gender & sexuality issues, alcohol & substance misuse, personal and spiritual growth & development.

What about my therapist or practitioner? How do I choose someone?

All Planetary Healing therapists and shamanic practitioners are trained, qualified and are members of their professional body.

All our shamanic practitioners and energy workers have trained at the Edinburgh Shamanic Centre with Claudia Goncalves and Mark Halliday and have access to support and supervision. All other holistic therapists are also qualified to the highest standard with other organisations.

At the Planetary Healing Centre we do not have student therapists, all our therapists are fully, highly qualified and well experienced. You can read about our therapists on our website.

In terms of the best therapist, we would say, the one you feel more drawn to is the best one for you. As trust is something really important in your healing process. Also listening to your gut feelings is very important when you choose a therapist.

How do I make an appointment?

To empower you, it is important that the initiative for making an appointment comes from you. Appointments can be done either by text or phone.

Waiting times vary depending on your availability and the availability of your therapist or practitioner.
